Global Entrepreneurship Initiatives / Participations

Walid Mushtaq CEO Roots International Schools carved a niche for Roots at the 3rd Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES) at Dubai World Trade Center, Dubai, United Arab Emirates on 11 – 12 December 2012 under the Patronage of His Royal Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the U.A.E and received a prestigious award on being the Arabia 500 Entrepreneurs by Under Secretary General of Commerce and International Trade, U.S State Department Mr. Francisco J. Sanchez and by Jose Fernandez Assistant Secretary of State, U.S State Department.

INTEL Institution Awards

Roots International Schools Pvt. Ltd run under the dynamic leadership of Mr. Walid Mushtaq, clinched first position in Intel Education Awards 2011-2012 in the category “Contest for Schools”. Intel also conferred “Institutional Technology Award Winner” to one of the branches of RIS. This Award was based on the most innovative use of technology to provide inquiry based learning in school.Intel showed their appreciation to CEO Roots International Schools for his constant support and relentless efforts in integrating ICT in the curriculum while conferring an award upon Mr. Walid Mushtaq. He has been a staunch reporter of employing the latest technological advancements to equip the students with the skills required to survive in the real world.

Roots Academy for Processional & Intellectual Development

Walid is the master mind behind RAPID, “Roots Academy for Professional & Intellectual Development”. RAPID is dedicated to accelerating educator’s professional growth . RAPID professional development resources are designed to meet the ever-changing needs of teachers and school management practitioners with an eye toward building capacity. Since 1998 , RAPID has been a prominent provider of teacher staff development, teacher continuing education, teacher coaching, teacher mentoring, and educational consulting . RAPID program offerings include:

  • CICTT – Cambridge International Certification For Teachers & Trainers, Annual Teachers Conference.
  • SCS – Student Counseling Seminars
  • Early years training, Management Induction Program and Continuous Professional Development Courses.

4CCI-4 Children Community Initiative

4CCI is the brain child of the dynamic Walid Mushtaq focused on ameliorating the lives of children, youth and women in urban, semi urban and rural communities across Pakistan. This initiative stems from his infectious enthusiasm for community building and social uplift. The focus areas of 4CCI include:

Collaborations & Partnership initiatives

1. RIS facilitating MoU between Ukraine’s largest master chamber & RCCI

Roots International Schools Students Entrepreneurial society organized and facilitated the MoU signing ceremony of Ukraine’s Master Chamber of Commerce, Kyiv Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry with the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, 30th of November 2012 at the Embassy of Ukraine Islamabad. This MoU signing is a Historic event for Pakistan, Rawalpindi, Ukraine and RIS. It marks Pakistan’s success towards better economic trade, commerce and International business Initiative which are also the endorsements of RIS Student Entrepreneurial society.

2. Cambridge Advisory Committee Pakistan

Mr. Walid is an active member of Cambridge Advisory Council and he actively provides input on academic aspects of the Cambridge programs in the region .

3. Participation in Conferences & Seminars

CEO, Roots International Schools, Mr. Walid Mushtaq with his staff from International Qualifications Department attended the University of London symposium and highlighted the importance of the international programs in Pakistan. More than 75 senior academics from the global network of teaching institutions met University of London International Programmes staff. The symposium was structured with the endeavor of building the association of teaching institutions, providing first rate support for students across the world.
CEO RIS Mr. Walid Mushtaq at the Developing 8 Summit jointly hosted by board of investment and Trade development authority of Pakistan attended the event along with the Federation of Chamber of Commerce of Pakistan (FPCCI) with Honorary Counsel General of Poland, President Federation of Chamber of Commerce of Nigeria (FPCCN), President Federation of Chamber of Commerce of Indonesia (FPCCI).
CEO RIS Mr. Walid Mushtaq was on the panel for speakers in a talent Gymnasium organized by ACCA Islamabad for ACCA affiliates and professional level students. The event was an exciting opportunity for young professionals to polish their leadership and interpersonal skills and to network with ACCA’s key employers on an interactive platform.
